Dental Treatments

We offer a comprehensive range of dental treatments, designed to give you optimal oral health.

  • Your dental exam is a comprehensive and preventative treatment which is a smart way to ensure that you maintain a healthy smile for a lifetime.   Your dental exam includes 2 x bitewing x-rays.  This provides the opportunity for us to check for tooth and gum diseases, decay and early detection of damage to your oral health.  Your dental exam should be done minimum every 12 months.

  • Also known as a scale and polish, the primary role of the hygienist treatment is to remove deposits that build up on the teeth and to also give you the skills to maintain good oral hygiene between visits. You should be making regular hygienist visits every 6 months to allow for the monitoring of your gum condition and the presence of plaque. Dental hygienists are university trained over 3 years and have a focus mainly on gum health. Working in conjunction with the dentist, hygienists play an important role in ensuring you are given optimal oral care by helping to slow the progress of gum disease and even prevent it in some cases.

  • Unfortunately teeth can become diseased, damaged or injured over time and in some cases may need to be removed (extracted). We are very aware that the thought of having your tooth out can cause great distress to many people which is why we only recommend the extraction of your tooth if absolutely necessary. If this should happen to you, one of our highly-experienced dentists will make the tooth extraction experience as painless as possible and help you to explore all the options for tooth replacement, including dentures, implants, crowns and bridges.

  • A dental filling is a way to restore a tooth that has been damaged by decay, cracked or broken back to its normal function and shape. If you have require a filling, the dentist will remove the decayed portion of tooth, clean the affected area, and then fill the cleaned out cavity using a filling material. A filling helps prevent further decay by closing off any cracks or spaces where bacteria can enter. Composite fillings are custom made to match the color of your natural teeth, creating a more natural appearance. Ask about tooth-colored fillings that make your mouth look more natural and attractive.

  • Root canal therapy can relieve the pain caused by diseased or injured pulp tissue inside the tooth. Many times this tissue cannot repair itself and root canal therapy is required to save the tooth from being extracted. This may require two or three dental visits. The process involves cleaning out the infected tooth pulp and disinfecting the canals of the tooth. Once the infection is resolved, the canals are filled to prevent any further infection. Usually a crown is recommended for restoring and protecting a tooth that has had root canal therapy.

  • Sedation therapy is a solution designed to help with the anxiousness some patients associate with a trip to the dentist. With sedation dentistry you will be placed in a completely relaxed state of conscious sedation for your entire dental procedure.
