Our Team

DR PATRICIA MCINTYRE

Dentist/Owner

Dentistry is a huge passion for me and I can remember wanting to become dentist since I was a child.  I enjoy all aspects of dentistry but have a special interest in cosmetic work.  I find it so rewarding being able to change peoples lives by creating beautiful smiles for them.  My patients best interest is always my priority and I am really proud of the work I provide.  I graduated dentistry in Brazil in 2001 and gained my dental registration in New Zealand in 2005.  I have been working for Alf Johnson since 2006 and I had the exciting opportunity of taking over the practice from Alf in 2017.  I have two children and on our weekends we love family time at the Blue Lakes.  I love the outdoors and also enjoy attending the gym on a regular basis.

DR SARANI LOH

Dentist

As the newest clinician at Clarence Dental, I am privileged to be part of an awesome team that has genuine care for their patients. I graduated from Otago University in 2014 and my passion for dentistry
has been growing ever since. To me, dentistry is a field that incorporates health science, physics, technology, art and personal interaction. I feel blessed to be in a position that allows me to use my skills and experience to be of service and to be able to establish a connection with my patients. In my home life, I am married to Eugene and mother of Micah and Zara. We love doing family day trips to Mt Maunganui, Auckland and Rotorua. In my spare time you would find me curled up reading a book because I'm not as motivated as some of my gym junkie colleagues.

DR ALF JOHNSON

Dentist

I originally established this practice in 1972 and was very excited to hand the reins of ownership over to Patricia and Lisa in 2017. Patients are very lucky to have all of the different treatment options they have available to them including implants and supported crowns and bridges. I really enjoy my work and love the interaction I have with my patients - some of whom I have treated for over 40 years! I have a passion for travel and love spending time with my grandchildren in my spare time.

SARAH BAKER

Hygienist

I graduated as a Dental Hygienist from AUT in 2012 and have not looked back, working as a hygienist for over 10 years now. I strongly believe that educating patients on oral hygiene is the key to them achieving a life-long healthy mouth. I'm very conscious of creating ease for anxious patients and strive to provide a pain-free experience.  I'm very open to doing what I can to make your dental experience stress-free and you will often hear me humming along to the music during your treatment. I am a cat mumma to four kitties and in my spare time I enjoy mixing up amazing cocktails, catching up with friends, and challenging myself at pole fitness.

LISA CHOU-LEE

Practice Manager/Owner

When you phone or come into our practice it is quite possible that I will be the first person you speak too.  I took over the practice with Patricia from Alf Johnson in 2017 and my focus is to make your dental experience with us a positive one.  I love the interactions I have with our patients and nothing makes me happier than hearing a patient at the end of treatment talk about how pleasant their visit with us was.  We have such an awesome team at our practice and I love working in an environment that is filled with such enthusiastic, fun and talented people.  In my spare time I love traveling and hanging at the beach, attempting to fish with my family.

HINEMAIA

Dental Assistant

I first became a Dental Assistant in 2021 and have enjoyed working in dentistry ever since.  Every day I find that there's always something new or different to learn which keeps me on my toes!  I joined Clarence Dental in August 2023 and I am grateful for the experience of being able to work with a team as awesome as this.  I look forward to being given the opportunity to start my studies next year to become a qualified Dental Assistant.  My favorite and most rewarding part of my job is knowing that I am a part of helping our clients become more confident within themselves, and for them to be able to smile brighter.  In my spare time I love to hang out with my friends and family.  I also enjoy going to the beach or lakes within NZ.

NAT

Dental Assistant

I had the opportunity to join the Clarence Dental team in 2020 - I came in one day for a routine checkup, left with a job and I have loved working here ever since!  I completed my Dental Assisting Certificate in 2021 and find it's been so rewarding being part of a team where you can change a person's life in just one visit. I'm interested in all aspects of dentistry but I particularly enjoy IV Sedation procedures. Outside of work, my days are filled with spending time with my three kids.  I also love hiking and spending nights on the couch crocheting.
